Welcome to
Nemophilist Coaching & Wellbeing
Reflective Professional Coaching in partnership with nature, creating space for deeper thinking, renewed self-belief, and confident choices.
Calm, thoughtful coaching
Coaching for people carrying significant responsibility - people often seen as the capable ones, used to coping and often supporting others without support for themselves, who are navigating ongoing demands and expectations, or standing at a turning point - and know that something needs to shift.

You don’t want or need more advice. You need space.

Space to pause
Space to think clearly
Space to decide what comes next.

A conversation is a good place to begin
If you're wondering whether coaching might help,
you're warmly welcome to book a free discovery call (usually around 30 minutes) - a relaxed, no-pressure conversation to see whether coaching together would feel right.
Based in North Yorkshire, I work with clients around Selby, York and the surrounding landscape, as well as online across the UK.
About you
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to coaching.

The people I work with are conscientious. They care deeply about doing things well. They often hold significant responsibility and manage many competing priorities - at work, at home, or both, and rarely afford themselves the time or space to think clearly without pressure.
This is a place to take a deep breath and work out what truly matters.

You might recognise yourself here if:

You’re carrying a lot
-
Are you capable, responsible, and used to coping yet quietly feeling overloaded, or running on empty?
-
Are you a professional or leader who is constantly switched on: delivering, deciding, supporting others - yet feeling stretched, depleted, or close to burnout?
-
Does your responsibility involve caring for others, holding emotional responsibility, and carrying more than is acknowledged?
-
Do you seem to be coping well outwardly while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unseen beneath the surface?

You’re at a crossroads
-
Are you navigating a transition in career, leadership, life direction - and need space to think clearly?
-
Could you be considering a change of direction, a promotion, a new venture, or a different way of living or working - you have ideas and ambition, but haven't yet shaped them into confident next steps?
-
Or, do you sense that something needs to change - even if you’re not yet sure what that looks like?
-
Do you need space to explore what’s possible without pressure or rush, and the confidence to map out a way forward?

You’re ready to grow

-
Do you feel the pull towards something more - greater clarity, purpose, or a different way of working and living and want to explore the possibilities?
-
Would you like to lead with greater confidence, realign your work with your values, or step into a new chapter with clarity and intention?

If this resonates with you, you're in the right place.

Nature is a powerful partner in coaching
Nemophilist: A person who finds peace in the woods. A place where thinking can breathe again.

The ethos of Nemophilist Coaching & Wellbeing reflects my belief that time in nature can help us to pause, regain perspective, and move forward with greater clarity.
I was privileged to experience transformational outdoor coaching in 2019 that enabled me to rediscover nature, re-find myself, develop work/life balance, enhance my physical and mental health, and increase resilience. I’ve never looked back.

Getting out into nature daily became an adaptive coping mechanism helping to restore my equilibrium, putting everything into perspective and enabling me to switch off and offering relief without asking more of me.
I tuned in to birdsong, weather, colour and seasons - leaving my stress behind and returning reset, calmer and better equipped to face the next day.
Now, its part of who I am. When I'm outdoors, I'm at one with nature.
I now blend professional coaching with the proven health and wellbeing benefits of time outdoors in nature to support individuals and organisations to find the balance between:

-
pace and pause
-
action and awareness
-
growth and grounding

With fewer distractions and without ceilings on your thinking, coaching outdoors creates conditions that support deeper reflection as you notice what matters, and reconnect with yourself.
Real change becomes tangible as you turn possibility into purposeful action, choosing a path that feels true, enabling change that is aligned, authentic, lasting - and which doesn’t come at the expense of your wellbeing.

Coaching with me is not a place to be rushed, fixed, or pressured. I believe that change doesn’t come from pushing you harder; it comes from listening more deeply.

My style of coaching works well for individuals, carers, organisations, business owners, leaders, and managers living with heavy loads.

I walk alongside you, matching your pace - never ahead of you

Learn to dance in the moment. Find your true rhythm.
Here are a few reflections from people who have experienced my Coaching
Employed client, 2026
Questions helped me to think about the end goal before focusing on the details which helped me clarify what I wanted and what was important about it.
Business owner, 2026
In six-eight weeks I have gone from an idea to actually doing it. It’s mind boggling where I have come from to where I am now and I am sure it was because of the coaching that you delivered. Thank you.
Client, 2026
Carolyn’s gentle questioning helped me think through different options and was encouraging as well as softly challenging where needed to help me test out my thinking.
A grounded approach to growth with Nemophilist
Stepping outside, even briefly, often helps thinking to breathe again.

Whether walking through woodland or pausing by water, each session invites you to breathe fully, think differently, and reconnect with your inner compass - supporting you to live, lead, and work with greater confidence, and clarity as well as enhancing your mental health, resilience, and promoting self-care.
If working outdoors is unfamiliar to you - or if distance, accessibility, time, or life circumstances make that difficult - that’s not a problem.

I work with clients in Selby, York, North Yorkshire and across the UK, and I’m equally at home coaching people remotely from my forest themed workspace via phone and online platforms including Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp.

Some clients prefer roaming phone calls, sitting outside in the garden, or hiring a local room if that feels right for them.

What matters is creating a space where you can pause, reflect, and move forward in a way that feels supportive and accessible for you, and this might change from session to session.
The same principles of unhurried presence, grounded curiosity, and space to think clearly are woven through my coaching however we meet.
